Women in Data Science, AI&ML Sweden is back!

In this mini-conference, we bring two technical talks as well as a panel, followed by a fun mingle in gather.town. Join us on October 7th!

As usual, our event is organized by female data scientists and machine learning practitioners and features only women on stage. However, participants of all genders and backgrounds are more than welcome to attend! Presentations are intentionally fairly technical and aimed towards current or aspiring data scientists, data engineers, machine learning engineers, as well as other AI experts.

Invited Speakers

Roxana Pamfil
Senior Data Scientist at QuantumBlack

Technical Talk: Causal Reasoning in ML with the Help of CausalNex

A growing trend in data science and machine learning has been to move beyond correlations into the realm of causal relationship. In this talk, Roxana will present QuantumBlack's work on CausalNex, an open source library that leverages Bayesian Networks to uncover structural relationships in data, learn conditional distributions, and observe the effect of potential interventions. She will also highlight some recent work that extends the methodology behind CausalNex for time-series data.

Roxana Pamfil

Roxana Pamfil is a Senior Data Scientist at QuantumBlack in London. She joined QuantumBlack in June 2019 and has worked with clients in the banking and insurance sectors. A mathematician by training, she loves thinking about complex technical problems and has done R&D work on Bayesian Networks that fed into the CausalNex library.

Scale up Machine Learning Models with Airflow

It is a challenge to move a Machine learning project from exploration to production due to the increasing complexity in a production environment. H&M Group has been using airflow in different use cases to leverage data-driven decisions to the stakeholders.

In this talk, Amira will present a high-level introduction to airflow and its flexibilities that can help in overcoming production environment challenges. She will also highlight the advantages of using similar technologies.

Amira Dinari

Amira Dinari is a Machine Learning Engineer at H&M in Sweden. Amira has a background in applied mathematics and finance engineering. She started her career as a data scientist/data analyst, and then switched to data engineering, ultimately becoming a machine learning engineer. She has worked on multiple projects in different stages of production.
